New Area Commissioner Appointed to Miramichi Area

On behalf of the Council Key Three, we're pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Plourde as the Miramichi Area Commissioner for New Brunswick Council – Scouts Canada.

Jason’s appointment will be for a one-year term, renewable for a maximum of three years commencing January 17th, 2018.

Jason’s Scouting adventure began in the early 1990’s as one of the first 30 members to register with the 1st Miramichi RCMP Venturer’s.  Over the next 3 years he enjoyed many camps with some very dear friends.  When a new sponsor couldn’t be found, he joined as a junior leader with a small Scout Troop.  Over the last 4 years, he’s been a Scouter with a Beaver Colony and Cub Pack with 1st Gretna Green in Miramichi where he’s enjoyed bringing Kub Kar’s back to the Area and attending many Provincial camps.  This year he is honored to host the Provincial Kub Kar Rally in Miramichi.  Jason has passed his love of Scouting on to his almost 10-year-old son who has 5 years experience in Scouting already and is working towards earning his Seeonee Award.

Although Jason’s career as a Welder/Fabricator has led him to Fredericton on a Monday to Friday basis he wants to continue his Scouting career in Miramichi to help support today’s Youth and tomorrow’s Scouters.  He is hoping to be of great service to the Scouting community and would love to receive an invite to any special events you have coming up!

Please join us in welcoming Jason to his role on the New Brunswick Council Service Team.
